Never Grow Weary
“Never Grow Weary of Doing Good” – This is the Marshall Personal Training slogan. As a client, you have heard it. But why and how do we live up to this motto?
Why?
This message comes from one of my favorite verses in the Bible, which finishes, “…at just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9 NLT)
How?
How to NEVER grow weary is tough. But when we set the bar high, even when we come up short, we will still have achieved great things. When it gets hard, remind yourself – you will reap a harvest from what you sow – and your hard work will pay off!
Be strong this week for the Lord, those around you, and yourself.
Something is Better than nothing
This is such a freeing and encouraging mindset to adopt. We often slip into an “ALL or nothing” approach to health. That thinking leads to discouragement, feeling like a failure, or even giving up.
Instead, adopt the “Something is better than nothing” mindset. Instead of feeling upset that life got in the way and you couldn’t do your planned workout or eat the planned meal, just do something! A little can go a long way — it can make you feel better, sleep better, stay more motivated, and keep confidence high.
“Something” could look like:
- putting on your shoes and getting outside for just a 10 minute walk or a mile jog
- setting a 10 minute timer and doing 5 push ups and 10 squats as many rounds as you can
- trying to add one whole food to your plate
- if there are no healthy food options, enjoying what’s available in moderation and getting back on track later with a healthy snack.
So when life happens, you’re not a failure, you’re an adapter. Consider the small “somethings” big wins!
